Every day, temples across India receive millions of flowers as offerings. By the next morning, most are swept into rivers — decomposing pesticide residue that pollutes the very waters they were meant to bless.
Phool exists to change that. We collect this temple floral waste from six Indian cities, and a team of women artisans from marginalized communities hand-sort, sun-dry, and hand-roll the petals into incense sticks, cones, and essential oils — a craft we call flowercycling. To date, Phool has recycled over 22,060 tons of temple flowers and given dignified work to 300+ women.
